Magellan Publications

Magellan attribution

The following text, adopted September 21, 2005 by the Magellan Council, should be included as a footnote to the title of papers that contain and use data taken with Magellan telescopes:

This paper includes data gathered with the 6.5 meter Magellan Telescopes located at Las Campanas Observatory, Chile.

It is also useful for the words “Magellan” and “Campanas” both to appear in the abstract. This helps with database searches.

TSIP attribution

If you obtained data through the AURA TSIP program, you should also put the following text in your acknowledgments paragraph at the end of your paper:

This material is based upon work supported by AURA through the National Science Foundation under Scientifc Program Order No. 5 as issued for support of the Telescope Systems Instrumentation Program (TSIP), in accordance with Proposal No. AST-0335461 submitted by AURA.
